Rainy Day Session.

Yesterday I met up with my buddy Rich at the Times Square Marriott and we jammed for a few hours, exploring card ideas and techniques. We took over a table in their lounge/lobby and had decks everywhere—it was great. What I immediately noticed is that as card guys, everyone is skilled at different sleights. For example, Rich thought my Shapeshifter was great, but I’ve never seen anyone do the Duck Change like he does. We came up with some interesting concepts for alternate handlings for an effect I perform from Expert Card Technique, ‘The Dunbury Delusion.’ I never liked using a second deal unnecessarily, so we remedied that with some other concepts—I’ll have a video up of it soon.

Then Rich’s buddy, Brandon met up with us—awesome card guy. He came with a deck that had been slightly warped by the rain and still was blowing our minds with some techniques. He also showed us an amazing pen vanish which I’m working on, as well as some really cool gaff principles that I think we’ll be playing with.

That’s all for now, but I think we’ll record some things at our next jam session this coming weekend.
